During our time at K-State we crossed paths and luckily added each other on Facebook. After graduating from K-State I (Caitlin) spent a few years in Optometry School in Memphis, TN and Jake moved to Dodge City to continue to grow their family's ag operation.

In Spring of 2022 I was back in Kansas City for a clinical rotation and Jake happened to come to KC for a Farming Convention. Thanks to social media, we reconnected as we realized we were in the same city. Jake asked me on our first date to McCormick and Schmick's on the Plaza in KC. Clearly, it went very well.

The last 3 years we have enjoyed traveling together to places including Canada, St. Lucia, and Mexico. (see memories below). We have spent a lot of time hiking, going to K-State football games, golfing, and enjoying all the small moments in between.

I truly can't believe how much has changed since 2022 and how many milestones we have accomplished together. In 2023 I made the leap to move to Dodge City to be closer together and to buy into an optometry practice. In 2024 we adopted our dog, Bear, who has made our lives so much fuller, and in March 2026 we will be welcoming our first baby boy and could not be more excited! <3 We are so thankful for all of you who have helped us along the way. We are so ready to FINALLY make this official!

On March 11, 2022 we went on our first date to McCormick and Schmick's on the Kansas City Plaza.

On February 15th, 2025 Jake proposed on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! Jake planned a beautiful sunset proposal surrounded by dozens of red roses.
